What to Pin If You Don’t Have a Blog (Yet)

Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I trust and use myself. Thank you for supporting my content!

One of the biggest Pinterest myths is that you need a blog to make Pinterest work for your business.... You don’t.

Yes, blogs work brilliantly on Pinterest. But they are not the only type of content you can share.

In fact, Pinterest can be an amazing platform for beginners, service providers, creators, and business owners who don’t want to become full-time bloggers.

Because Pinterest is about helping people discover ideas, solutions, products, and inspiration. ✨

And there are lots of ways to do that!

So if you’ve been sitting there thinking I’d love to use Pinterest, but I don’t have a blog… This post is for you!

Why Pinterest still works without a blog

Pinterest is a search engine and people go there looking for:

  • ideas

  • inspiration

  • solutions

  • recommendations

  • products

  • guidance

They aren’t specifically searching for blogs, they’re searching for answers.

That means your pins can still work even if they lead to:

  • a sales page

  • a freebie

  • a podcast

  • a YouTube video

  • an email opt-in

  • a product page

  • a booking page

  • a shop

  • a landing page

  • a Canva template

  • a waitlist

  • even your Instagram (occasionally)

The important part is that your content helps someone move forward with something they care about.

The best things to Pin if you don’t have a blog

1. Freebies & Lead Magnets

This is one of the BEST uses of Pinterest if you’re growing an online business.

Instead of trying to send people to random social media posts, you can use Pinterest to grow your email list.

Some examples:

  • checklists

  • planners

  • guides

  • mini trainings

  • cheat sheets

  • templates

  • swipe files

  • quizzes

  • workbooks

Pinterest users LOVE practical resources, especially if they solve a very specific problem.

For example:

  • 5 Pinterest Mistakes That Stop Your Pins Getting Clicks

  • Simple Weekly Content Plan for Busy Business Owners

  • 30 Instagram Hooks for Coaches

  • Beginner-Friendly Budget Planner

These are all things people actively search for on Pinterest.

2. Your Services

A lot of service providers massively overlook Pinterest, but Pinterest users are often in research mode.

They are planning ahead, comparing options and looking for support.

Which means Pinterest can work really well for:

  • virtual assistants

  • designers

  • coaches

  • photographers

  • copywriters

  • social media managers

  • wedding suppliers

  • wellness professionals

  • educators

You can create pins that lead directly to:

  • your services page

  • enquiry form

  • portfolio

  • booking page

  • case studies

  • testimonials

Some simple pin title ideas:

  • Pinterest Management for Coaches

  • Brand Design for Creative Businesses

  • Need Help With Instagram Content?

  • Wedding Photography Tips & Packages

  • How I Help Small Businesses Get More Traffic

Pinterest doesn’t always need long-form content, sometimes people just need the next step.

3. YouTube Videos

Pinterest and YouTube work SO well together. Both platforms are searchable and have evergreen potential because they reward useful content.

If you create videos, Pinterest can help you get more eyes on them long after you upload.

You can pin:

  • tutorials

  • how-to videos

  • behind-the-scenes content

  • educational videos

  • product demos

  • Q&As

  • tips and tricks

  • beginner guides

This is especially useful if you prefer speaking over writing!

4. Podcast Episodes

Podcast content is hugely underused on Pinterest, but it’s perfect for evergreen marketing.

You can create pins around:

  • episode topics

  • quotes

  • key lessons

  • listener problems

  • quick tips

  • frameworks

  • storytelling moments

Instead of only promoting an episode once on Instagram, Pinterest gives it a much longer shelf life.

5. Product Pages

Pinterest users LOVE discovering products. Especially products that:

  • solve problems

  • make life easier

  • feel aspirational

  • support hobbies or interests

This works for:

  • digital products

  • printable products

  • templates

  • memberships

  • courses

  • handmade products

  • affiliate products

  • ecommerce stores

And unlike social media, your pins can continue working quietly in the background for months.

6. Helpful Social Media Content

Even if you don’t have a blog, you probably already have content you can repurpose.

Things like:

  • Instagram carousels

  • educational captions

  • LinkedIn posts

  • tips threads

  • tutorials

  • FAQs

  • mini lessons

Pinterest is actually great for repurposing content you’ve already created. You don’t always need more content.

Sometimes you just need your content in more searchable places.

7. Simple Landing Pages

You also don’t need a huge website to start using Pinterest, a single landing page can be enough.

You could create:

  • a “work with me” page

  • a freebie page

  • a waitlist page

  • a course page

  • a simple homepage

  • a digital product page

And start driving Pinterest traffic to it, this is why Pinterest can work really well for beginners - you can build as you go!

Pinterest is perfect for evergreen marketing

One of the reasons I love Pinterest so much is because it’s not all about posting constantly. Your content has a longer lifespan.

A single pin can continue getting clicks months later.

That’s very different from platforms where content disappears within 24 hours, and this is where evergreen content becomes so powerful.

Because even without a blog, you can still create content assets that keep working for you over time.

Things like:

  • freebies

  • videos

  • podcasts

  • templates

  • sales pages

  • evergreen offers

Pinterest helps people discover them long after you hit publish.

Start with what you already have

You do not need:

  • 100 blog posts

  • a huge audience

  • fancy funnels

  • daily content

  • professional graphics

You just need something helpful to point people towards. Start with:

  • one freebie

  • one service

  • one offer

  • one landing page

  • one video

  • one helpful piece of content

And build from there. Because Pinterest is often less about doing more, and more about helping the right people discover what you already have.
